Hammertoe Correction

29 year old female being seen for painful right 5th toe.  The patient has some curvature and under riding with rubbing of her 4th toe.

We offered conservative treatment which in this hammertoe condition is somewhat satisfactory of the patient is using on a regular basis however once the callus is removed and spacers are not used the pain and callus return.  An outpatient procedure was performed which placed the toe in a straight position without using any screws or pins.  The patient was able to be full weight-bearing after surgery and return to work 3 days later.

These pictures are taken at 6 months with patients having no pain discomfort or any callus formation along with the 5th to 4th toe.
